Incident response · 24/7
Under attack right now?
Call our incident line. An analyst answers at any hour, including weekends and holidays, whether or not you are a client yet.
While you wait for us
- Disconnect affected devices from the network. Unplug the network cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
- Leave them powered on. Memory can hold evidence we will need to trace the attack.
- Do not reply to the attacker or pay a ransom. We will advise on next steps once we know what happened.
- Write down what you saw and when. Screenshots, error messages and times all help.
- Use a phone, not email, to coordinate. If your email is compromised, the attacker may be reading it.
What happens on the call
An analyst will ask what you are seeing, help you contain it, and start remote investigation as soon as you give us access. If on-site work is needed we will arrange it.
Privacy breach obligations in Alberta
If personal information may have been exposed, Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act can require you to notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta and affected people when there is a real risk of significant harm. Health custodians have obligations under the Health Information Act. We help you collect the facts; your lawyer and insurer should guide the decision.
